A professional balloon regulator is included with every hire.

Approximate Balloon Capacity

A C Size helium cylinder can inflate approximately:

• Up to 50 × 28 cm latex balloons

Balloon quantities are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

Actual capacity depends on balloon size, type, inflation level and helium wastage. Larger latex balloons, jumbo balloons, foil balloons, number and letter balloons and other oversized balloons require considerably more helium and will reduce the total number of balloons that can be inflated.

Every helium cylinder is supplied ready for hire; however, do not plan your event on the assumption that you will receive more than the stated approximate capacity.

If your event requires close to the maximum capacity, or you may need additional balloons, we strongly recommend allowing extra helium rather than relying on the cylinder exceeding its estimated capacity.

For example, if you require approximately 100 standard balloons, we recommend hiring the Medium D Size Tank and considering an additional Small C Size Tank if you require a buffer or are using larger balloons.

Helium lost through over-inflation, incorrect inflation or releasing helium between balloons will reduce the number of balloons you can inflate.

Hire Period

Choose your required hire duration when booking, including 24 Hour, Weekend or 7 Day Hire.

All equipment must be returned by the agreed return date and time. Late returns may incur additional hire charges and reasonable costs resulting from the delayed return.

Pickup, Delivery & Return

Dry Hire Pickup: Collection and return are by appointment from 15 Bishop Street, Breakfast Point NSW 2137.

Our Direct-to-Boot Service means you can remain with your vehicle when collecting or returning your equipment. Call or text Fiona on 0424 444 470 when you arrive and we will meet you at your vehicle.

Delivery & Collection: Sydney-wide delivery and return collection may be available as an optional service. Select your applicable fulfilment option when booking to view availability and charges.

Responsible Hirer – 18+ Only

The responsible hirer must be 18 years of age or older.

Valid government-issued photo identification is required as part of the booking process and must be available for verification before the cylinder is released.

Security Bond

A $50 refundable security bond applies to C Size helium tank hire.

The bond refund is processed within 3–5 business days following the safe, complete and timely return of the helium cylinder, regulator and associated hire equipment.

The bond may be applied toward loss, damage, missing equipment or unpaid late-return charges. Where applicable charges exceed the bond, the remaining amount is payable by the hirer.

Transport & Customer Responsibility

Helium cylinders are pressurised gas vessels and must be transported, handled and stored safely.

Customers collecting their cylinder are responsible for providing a safe and suitable transport arrangement.

The cylinder must:

• Be transported upright and securely restrained
• Be prevented from tipping, rolling, sliding, falling or moving during transport
• Never be transported loose or unsupported
• Have the cylinder valve closed during transport
• Be transported with the regulator removed
• Be kept away from excessive heat and direct sunlight
• Not be left unattended in a hot vehicle
• Be transported in a vehicle with adequate ventilation

Customers must arrive with suitable restraints or another appropriate method of securing the cylinder.

Cushions, pillows or blankets may be used as additional padding and support only and do not replace suitable restraint.

Piece Of Cake Events reserves the right to refuse release of the cylinder where the proposed transport arrangement is considered unsafe or unsuitable.

Helium Cylinder Trolley & Securing Straps

For easier handling and additional stability when moving and using your helium cylinder at your event, we strongly recommend adding our Helium Cylinder Trolley & Securing Straps Hire.

Trolley & Securing Straps Hire: $25

This is particularly recommended for schools, fetes, community events, outdoor events and locations where the cylinder may be vulnerable to being knocked or bumped.

Please add the trolley when booking or contact us prior to collection, subject to availability.

Ultra Hi-Float for Latex Balloons

For longer-lasting latex balloons, Ultra Hi-Float can be added when booking.

Hi-Float coats the inside of latex balloons to help extend their float time.

• Suitable for latex balloons only
• Not suitable for foil balloons
• Does not increase the amount of helium contained in the cylinder

Using Your Helium

Operating instructions will be provided with your hire.

Balloon inflation requires care. Over-inflating balloons or allowing helium to escape between balloons can substantially reduce the number of balloons you are able to inflate.

Do not tamper with, modify or attempt to repair the cylinder, valve, regulator or fittings. If anything appears damaged or does not operate correctly, stop using the equipment and contact Piece Of Cake Events.

Need More Helium?

If you’re unsure whether one cylinder will be enough, allow additional capacity rather than relying on the maximum estimate.

As a guide:

Small C Size: up to approximately 50 × 28 cm latex balloons
Medium D Size: up to approximately 100 × 30 cm latex balloons

If your requirements are close to the stated maximum, you are using larger balloons, or you want additional capacity as a buffer, consider hiring an additional cylinder.

It is much better to have sufficient helium available than to run out partway through your balloon setup.
